Black Point is the story of a washed-up ex-Navy officer, John Hawkins (David Caruso). He is still haunted by the fact that his daughter was kidnapped while in his care at a local mall during the Christmas season. His wife resented him for the ordeal and she eventually left him. He is now alone, going in and out of drinking binges, and consistently letting down the people who still care for him. After his most recent bender, John takes a jog into town to catch up with his friend, Standing Bear (Gordon Tootoosis). John had missed some shifts and hopes to rectify the situation with his old friend. On the way, he notices a new couple moving into a house and ends up helping the wife, Natalie (Susan Haskell), with a water leak. John is immediately attracted to her, but this is the wrong lady to try to win over. Her husband, Gus (Thomas Ian Griffith), is an evil, ne'er-do-well that is mixed up in lots of violent and heinous things.
