Blackbeard's Ghost is a live-action Disney comedy about a track coach who inherits a bed-warmer that contains a book of magic spells once owned by Captain Blackbeard (Peter Ustinov). When Coach Steve Walker (Dean Jones) arrives at the Godolphin North Carolina campus to assume his duties as a track coach, he takes up residence at an inn inhabited by a group of elderly pirate descendents. The inn is behind on its mortgage and in jeopardy of falling into the hands of a seedy local thug, Silky Seymour (Joby Baker), who wants to use the land for a casino. Steve inadvertantly conjures up Blackbeard's ghost after reciting a spell from the book. He now finds himself joined at the hip with Blackbeard's rambunctuous ghost after it is revealed that his wife cursed him to limbo unless he can do a good deed. Along with whipping a floundering track team into shape, Steve must also contend with the antics of a drunken ghost who is forced to help him.moreless
