Blades of Glory follows the story of men's singles skates Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell), a talented but voulger sex addict and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder), a skillful, effeminate skater. The two bitter rivals tie for gold at the World Winters Sport Games and cause a scene fighting over it at the awards podium. The men are stripped on their medals and are banned from the men's singles competition. Struggling three years later, Chazz discovers a loophole in the ban allowing him to compete in the pairs division of the competition. Unable to find a female partner, Chazz pairs up with once rival Jimmy MacElroy. This unlikely pair is reluctant at first but become good friends and great skating partners. The duo must face the reigning U.S. national pairs champions, brother and sister Stanz (Will Arnett) and Fairchild (Amy Poehler) van Waldenberg. Armed with the "Iron Lotus" an extremely complicated maneuver developed by their skating coach, Robert (Craig T. Nelson) they pair prepare for the competition. Sneaky tricks by Stanz and Fairchild challenge Chazz and Jimmy leading up to the match. Their skills and trust in each other are put to the test as they compete for the title.moreless
