Bless the Child is a 2000 supernatural thriller about Maggie O'Connor (Kim Basinger), a woman plunged into the middle of a terrifying conspiracy. Maggie has never married, instead focusing happily on her life as a nurse and taking pleasure in helping others. Everything changes when her estranged sister, Jenna (Angela Bettis), arrives on Maggie's doorstep and begs for shelter. Jenna also has an infant daughter. Maggie willingly helps both of them, but before long, Jenna has vanished back into the night. Six years later, Maggia has come to love her niece, Cody (Holliston Coleman), like her own daughter. Her life is rudely interrupted a second time when Jenna comes back to claim Cody, accompanied by her unsavory new husband (Rufus Sewell). Maggie feels helpless, but knows that she has to find a way to save Cody. She enlists the reluctant help of FBI agent John Travis (Jimmy Smits), and together the two uncover a satanic plot that could spell the end of the world.moreless
