Blood and Roses is a French vampire film from 1960. The film is directed by Roger Vadim. Camilla (Annette Vadim) is a woman whose friend, Georgia Monteverde (Elsa Martinelli), is marrying Leopoldo de Karnstein (Mel Ferrer), at his estate. The wedding is to take place near an old castle on the estate grounds and Leopoldo is planning a grand fireworks display. Just as the wedding is about to start, something goes amiss with the fireworks causing a store of World War II ammunitions to blow up. The explosion disturbs the long-lost tomb of a vampire named Milarca. Milarca's spirit enters Camilla, who has always been jealous of the couple. Leopoldo cancels the wedding to move it to another place and Camilla begins to make her love for Leopoldo known. Camilla would also like to get Georgia out of the way once and for all and tries to kill her. Is Milarca's spirit making Camilla do strange things, or is it Camilla herself.moreless
