Blood and Sand is a 1941 bullfighting movie directed by Rouben Mamoulian. Juan Gallardo (Tyrone Power) has left his home town on a quest to become a great bullfighter like his father leaving his love, Carmen Espinosa (Linda Darnell), behind. After ten years, Juan returns as a great and wealthy bullfighter. Juan marries Carmen and uses his newfound riches to aid his family by providing them with a life of luxury. The fame and fortune begin to go to Juan's head and begins an extra-marital affair with Do'a Sol des Muire (Rita Hayworth). Carmen leaves Juan and his life begins to fall apart just like his father's. Even Do'a moves on to a younger, more popular matador. Juan is then forced to beg for forgiveness from those he has wronged.
