Blood of the Vampires is a 1970 horror film directed by one of the Philippines' most respected filmmakers, Gerardo DeLeon. The movie has also been released under the title "Whisper to the Wind." The story surrounds an aristocratic Filipino family that harbors a deep, dark secret. Although family matriarch Dona Consuelo Escodero (Mary Walter) is dead, her corpse is inhabited by a vampire demon. Because she poses a danger to other family members and townspeople, family patriarch Don Enrique Escodero (Johnny Monteiro) keeps her locked away in the family's mausoleum. Overwhelmed by her thirst for human blood, Dona escapes and proceeds to go after her own son, Eduardo (Eddie Garcia). The unfortunate death of the father now leaves family members and townspeople in grave danger. The vampires soon find that picking off townspeople will not be as easy as once thought. A force soon arrives, which results in the ultimate showdown between good and evil.
