The Last Vampire is a 2009 action thriller directed by Chris Nahon. In the film, Saya (Gianna Jum) appears to be a normal 16-year-old teenager, but she is actually a 400-year-old halfling, she has the soul of her human father and the needs of her vampire mother. Saya's life is conflicted because she desires to rid the world of vampires, but needs blood to survive just like the creatures she hunts. The halfling possesses samurai skills that she has perfected her entire life and has a samurai sword that is always with her. She is mostly a loner, but is employed by a secret government agency as a vampire killer. Her new assignment is to infiltrate a high school in Tokyo, Japan, and find out if vampires are there; if they are there, she is to destroy them. Saya hopes that this assignment will help her get close to Onigin (Koyuki), the vampire who killed her father.
