Movie Summary

Director:
Clint Eastwood
Released:
2002
Rating:
R
Former FBI Director Terry McCaleb (Oscar-winner Clint Eastwood -- "Space Cowboys," "True Crime"), having recently undergone a heart transplant, retires to his boat in the L.A. harbor. However, he is soon coaxed out of retirement to assist a woman (Wanda De Jesus -- "Ghosts of Mars," "The Insider") in tracking down the person who killed her sister. As fate would have it, it was the woman's dead sister who gave Terry his new heart. While investigating the murder, Terry discovers that it may have been committed by a serial killer that he had been tracking while with the FBI -- a killer who has recently begun killing victims with Terry's blood type. Also starring Academy Award-winner Anjelica Huston ("The Royal Tenenbaums," "Ever After"), Golden Globe-nominee Jeff Daniels ("Gods and Generals," "Pleasantville"), Tina Lifford ("Joe Somebody," "Pay It Forward"), Dylan Walsh ("We Were Soldiers," TV's "The Lone Ranger") and ALMA Award-nominee Paul Rodriguez ("Ali," "Rat Race").

A wry exercise in geriatric uplift.

    Los Angeles Times Kenneth Turan

    Variety Todd McCarthy

The 72-year-old star, who is centerscreen throughout, makes this rather far-fetched yarn go down much more easily than it otherwise might have.
