Blue Hawaii is a 1961 musical film by director Norman Taurog and assistant Michael D. Moore, starring Elvis Presley. In the movie, Elvis Presley is Chadwick Gates, a young man fresh out of the Army and eager to be back in Hawaii where friends, surfing, and dating make up his primary concerns. His mother, Sarah Lee Gates (Angela Lansbury), is not as fond of Chadwicks laid back plans and carefree lifestyle and wants him to work at the Great Southern Hawaii Fruit Company, where he will be well occupied with hard work. Chadwick does not want that job, but the fact is that he needs a job. So he goes to work as a tour guide for his girlfirends agency and fun times ensue.
