Blue Streak is a 1999 comedy starring Martin Lawrence about a skilled thief on the hunt for an extremely valuable diamond who is forced to pose as a police officer to finish the job. Lawrence plays Miles Logan, the leader of a team of thieves who devises a plan to steal a $17 million dollar diamond. One of the thieves, Deacon (Peter Greene), has a plan of his own, and turns on Logan halfway through the job. Logan manages to get the diamond to a safe hiding spot moments before the police arrive and slap the cuffs on him as Deacon escapes clean. Logan serves two years in prison. When he's released, he returns to the construction site where he hid the diamond, hoping to finally finish the heist. To his dismay, the construction site is now the new police headquarters, leaving Logan with only one option—pose as a detective and infiltrate the station. Nothing's ever as easy as it sounds, though, and Logan soon finds himself hard at work for the police department with his very own partner, the naive Detective Carlson (Luke Wilson). As his fellow detectives are more and more impressed with Logan's street-smarts and ability to think like a criminal, his chances of getting the diamond back keep slipping further away. Blue Streak is a hilarious cop comedy that scored big at the box office, co-starring Dave Chappelle as Logan's bumbling accomplice Tulley.moreless
