Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice is a comedy film made by Paul Mazursky starring Natalie Wood, Robert Culp, Elliott Gould, and Dyan Cannon. Bob (Robert Culp), a filmmaker, and his wife Carol, return to their Los Angeles home after spending some time at a unique group therapy retreat. At the retreat, the couple learned to embrace "openness" and act in the moment, rather than intellectualize thoughts and emotions. Bob and Carol are absolutely certain their new liberal approach to life beats any other, and they insist their closest friends, also a couple, Ted (Elliott Gould) and Alice (Dyan Cannon), embrace it as well. Ted and Alice are a little reluctant to adopt this new behavior, but decide to accompany Bob and Carol on a trip to Las Vegas anyway. As the foursome spend more time together, stories of sexual deviances from the past are revealed, and each character becomes a little less emotionally inhibited. Finally, they all agree that the last hurtle to overcome in this newfound view on love is the one on everyone's mind: they must have a friendly foursome. But something stands in their way from going through with the dirtiest deed of all. Watch to find out!moreless
