Bobby Z is a 2007 film directed by John Herzfeld. The action surrounds ex-Marine convict Tim Kearney (Paul Walker) and corrupt DEA agent Tad Gruzsa (Laurence Fishburne). Gruzsa offers the incarcerated Kearney a chance for an early release on the condition that Kearney impersonates a recently deceased drug lord Bobby Z (Jason Lewis). Although this is a dangerous proposition, Kearney is willing to accept the offer to gain his freedom and flee an escalating problem between him and an Aryan prison gang. Kearney is responsible for the death of the gang's leader (Chuck Liddell) and he knows that remaining in prison will equal certain death. Besides his freedom, Kearney also hopes to earn the attention of Bobby Z's gorgeous ex-girlfriend (Olivia Wilde) and take home a fortune in illegal drug money. As expected, the masquerade quickly gets out of control and Kearney finds himself running from a slew of enemies while also trying to protect Bobby Z's eleven year old son Kit (J.R. Villareal).moreless
