Bodies, Rest & Motion is a comedic drama directed by Michael Steinberg and starring Phoebe Cates (Fast Times at Ridgemont High), Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs), Bridget Fonda (Single White Female) and Eric Stoltz (Mask). Nick (Tim Roth) is a television executive who, after he is fired from his job, impulsively decides that he and his girlfriend Beth (Bridget Fonda) should move to Butte, Montana, because it is the city of the future. He waits until the last moment to tell his ex-girlfriend Carol (Phoebe Cates), who is Beth's best friend, about the move. While Nick is busy at his last day of work, Sid (Eric Stoltz) comes to the couple's house to paint it for the next tenants and quickly develops a romantic interest in Beth. He, Beth, and Carol do drugs together, get stoned and hang out. Meanwhile, Nick decides to take off on his own. When Beth learns about this, she finds solace in Sid's arms. Sid proclaims his love the next morning, and begs Beth to stay. Meanwhile, Nick visits his childhood home, looking for his parents, has an epiphany, and decides to return.moreless
