Body Slam is an off the wall comedy about a music promoter that finds unexpected success when he couples his rock band with professional wrestlers. M. Harry Smilac (Dirk Benedict) is a music promoter whose problems are multiplying quickly; from paying back a loan shark to trying to find talent to book a benefit concert, he is grasping for anything to get his career back on track for himself and his band, Kicks. So when he mistakenly books wrestler Quick Rick Roberts (Roddy Piper) for the benefit, the music man tries his hand at promoting wrestling, lining up gigs for Rick and his tag team partner Tonga Tom (Sam Fatu). Between low level matches and threats from their former manager Lou Murano (Lou Albano), Harry's road out of the red seems long indeed, but his fortunes change when he pairs his quirky wrestlers with Kicks, creating a rock and wrestling phenomena. Hal Needham directs this over the to flick cashing in on two 1980s successes.moreless
