Bombon El Perro is a 2004 comedic drama about a financially strapped mechanic who finds that opportunity comes in the form of a new experience after a chance encounter. Coco (Juan Villegas) has worked at a gas station for over 20 years, yet finds himself in dire straits after his company goes out of business seemingly overnight. After no luck getting a job elsewhere in the field, Coco begins selling hand-crafted knives as a way to make ends meet. Yet again, he has no luck earning money and begins to sulk at his misfortune. However, luck begins to turn after he rescues a stranded woman and she rewards him not in money, but with a beautiful, Argentine show dog. Soon, he decides to try his hand at showing off his new dog on the show circuit and recruits a dog trainer, Walter (Walter Donado), to come in and help him get his new pet trained. The trio then hit the road on a new adventure that sees Coco excited about life and finally with bright prospects for his financial future.
