Bonanza: The Return takes viewers back to the Ponderosa Ranch in this made for television film, a sequel to the famed "Bonanza" television show that ran from 1959 to 1973. Bonanza: The Return introduces a new generation of Cartwrights, grandchildren of the late Ben Cartwright (Lorne Green in the original series). The grandchildren gather at the Ponderosa after their grandfather's death to claim their inheritance, but are quickly swindled out of the property by the unscrupulous Augustus Brandenburg (Dean Stockwell). It is up to Benjamin Cartwright (Michael Landon, Jr.) to take on Brandenburg in court to win the property back for the family. Enraged to learn he has lost the Ponderosa, Brandenburg abducts Sara Cartwright (Emily Warfield), Benjamin's sister, and flees with her on board his private train. The Cartwright family must come together to save Sara from the clutches of the madman. In a case of art imitating life, Bonanza: The Return stars the real life sons, Michael Landon, Jr. and Dirk Blocker, of original series cast members Michael Landon and Dan Blocker (Little Joe and Hoss Cartwright).moreless
