Bongwater is a comedy film released in 1997. The film takes place in Oregon and centers around David (Luke Wilson), an artist who also happens to be addicted to marijuana. He meets and falls in love with a beautiful woman named Serena (Alicia Witt). The two seem to be living a perfect life until David's house burns down. Serena feels that the fire gives a bad vibe, so she decides to leave to New York with rocker Tommy (Jamie Kennedy). David becomes depressed when Serena leaves, causing him to spend more time with his friends and smoking more marijuana. He has sex with Serena's friend Mary (Brittany Murphy), hoping that he can get his mind off of Serena. David begins to feel better about life, while Serena begins to realize that city life is not for her.
