Booky's Crush, directed by Peter Moss, is a 2009 television drama about a working class family stuggling to survive during the Depression era in Toronto, Canada. The Thomson family consists of Thomas (Stuart Hughes), Francie (Megan Follows) and their four children: Willa (Sarah White), an aspiring medical student; Arthur (Dylan Everett), a talented artist; Beatrice "Booky" (Rachel Marcus), an inquisitive 11-year-old and Jakey (Noah Ryan Scott). The family loves each other very much, but their parents are unable to support their talented children because of their financial constraints. This difficulty makes the normally happy family relationship very strained. Booky is given an opportunity to escape some of her family's trouble when she is asked to tutor a new student, George Dunlop (Connor Price). Booky quickly develops her first crush on the older student. Booky's new behavior gives the entire family something to think about. How will this crush affect Booky's family?
