Border Saddlemates is a 1952 Western film directed by William Witney. It follows the story of Rex Allen (Rex Allen), a U.S government veterinarian who is assigned to go to Pine Rock, a town near the Canadian border, to replace the local vet doctor who is on vacation leave. In the heart of the fox land, he has to treat the animals that are highly priced for their fur. At the farm of Mel Richards (Tom London), Rex starts learning the habits of these valued creatures with the help of Mel's niece, Jane (Mary Ellen Kay), and her brother Danny (Jimmy Moss). Steve Baxter (Roy Barcroft), the leader of a criminal gang that deals with money counterfeiting and smuggling it in fox cages to run it across the border, is deeply bothered by vet's decision to quarantine a fox ranch that was used as a base for illegal operations. With Rex Allen in trouble and the outlaws anxious to resume their money laundering activity, who will emerge on the winning side?moreless
