Borderline is a 1980 drama written and directed by Jerrold Freedman that revolves around the struggle of a US Border Patrol Officer to capture and punish the murderers of his partner. Jeb Maynard (Charles Bronson), whose job is to protect the US border with Mexico from drug smugglers and illegal immigrants, has suffered the loss of his best friend and partner Scooter Jackson (Wilford Brimley). His fellow officer was killed during a border incident by unidentified Mexican criminals. With Maynard's superiors following the wrong track, Jeb is forced to take the matter into his own hands hoping to restore justice at any cost. Maynard infiltrates into Mexico to track down a gang that controls the smuggling of illegal immigrants across the US border and who may be responsible for Scooter's death. He is surprised to find out that not only Mexican outlaws are involved in illegal border activities. Wealthy American citizens that maintain a respectable appearance are supervising the entire criminal process to protect their financial interests.moreless
