Born to Be Wild is a 1995 movie about a gorilla, captured in the wild and sent to be experimented on by behavioral scientists. The head scientist, Margaret Heller (Helen Shaver), loves studying the gorilla, but is not as fascinated with it as her son Rick (Wil Horneff). Rick gets himself into lots of trouble, and as punishment, he has to clean the gorilla's cage. Growing fond of the gorilla, Rick hates it when the owner comes to take the gorilla and turn it into a shopping mall attraction. As a result, Rick decides to set the wild gorilla loose, and the two end up making a dash for Canada where they can roam the land as free beings. Will the juvenile delinquent and his new friend make it to the wild without being caught? John Gray directs this adventure comedy about a reformed teenager and a gorilla yearning for the wild.
