Danny Breslin (Bobby Jordan) is a promising young boxer who falls in with a local gang led by thuggish loan shark Monk Martin (Bobby Stone). As Danny's infatuation with crime grows, he puts his dreams of college on hold and works with Monk to illegally fix boxing matches and horse races. Soon, the police nab him, resulting in his disqualification from an important boxing match called The Golden Gloves. Danny is heartbroken. Now his best friend Muggs (Leo Gorcey) must take his place in the ring. Muggs demonstrates that he is also a talented fighter and will probably win the match. However, Monk and his hoodlums want to "fix" the fight and rake in the illegal gambling proceeds. Now Muggs must decide if he will cooperate with the gang, and Danny faces some tough truths about friendship and loyalty.
