Breakaway, also known as Speedy Singhs, is a 2011 Canadian sports comedy film directed by Robert Lieberman, and produced by Akshay Kumar and Paul Gross. Rajveer Singh (Vinay Virmani) is a young hockey player that lives in the inner part of Toronto, Canada. His Indian family is traditional and conservative, and have all but deaf ears to their son's childhood dreams of becoming a professional Canadian hockey legend. Despite their lack of support for Rajveer's hockey ambitions, they give him a job driving a truck for the family. Rajveer does not follow his family's ways and decides to his hokey career, but runs into a racist attitude from his fellow players and is forced to start his own team. Rajveer is falling for his coach's sister, a sexy law student, Melissa Winters (Camilla Belle). Can Rajveer maintain his focus and work to overcome the judgements of the those around him, all the while earning their respect and making his way to the top?moreless
