Breakin' All the Rules is a hilarious comedy romance film that narrates the life of an hopeful author Quincy Watson (Jamie Foxx). All was going well for Quincy until an unexpected breakup with his fiance. Hurt and unsure of his life, Quincy begins to write a book all about the rules of breaking up to keep his friends from suffering the same fate. Shortly after this book becomes a bestseller, he begins giving personal advice on the subject to his cousin Evan Fields (Morris Chestnut), who actually helped him compile the book. However, when Evan's girlfriend Nikki Callas (Gabrielle Union), discovers the true nature of their friendship, she begins to wise up to their plan. To make matters more interesting, Quincy begins to fall for Nikki after helping her relationship with Evan for so long. The ways in which the characters in this film come together makes for a surprisingly hilarious and witty clash of personalities.
