Bride Wars is a 2009 American romantic comedy by director Gary Winick, starring Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, and Candice Bergen in a comedic look at what it really means to become a bridezilla. Sweet Emma Allen (Anne Hathaway) and sassy Olivia 'Liv' Lerner (Kate Hudson) have been best friends for as long as they can remember. And, for almost as long, they have shared the lifelong dream of being married at the Plaza Hotel in the sunny month of June. But when Emma's boyfriend, Fletcher Flemson (Chris Pratt), proposes to Emma just days before Liv's fianc', Daniel William (Steve Howey), proposes to Liv, the drama begins. Their shared wedding planner, Marion St. Clair (Candice Bergen), informs the girls that the Plaza only has an opening for one more wedding that June'so who will get it? Emma is sick of always backing down, but Liv is not going to settle for anything less than the best'after all, she is used to always having everything her way. What starts out as a minor problem with reservations escalates into a full-on catfight, in which friends are lost, sides must be chosen, and no holds are barred in an all-out bridezilla war. Bride Wars is sure to be a riot, having received nominations for two awards at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.
