Brides of Blood, directed by Gerardo de Leon and Eddie Romero, was first released in 1968. This science fiction horror film is the second movie in the gruesome Blood Island Trilogy. The movie, filmed in the Philippines, is set on an exotic island known as Blood Island. The island has been poisoned by radiation which has produced all kinds of strange mutations, including man-eating plants and ferocious animals. The inhabitants of the island worship a strange creature known as the Evil One, who must receive human sacrifices. The chiefs of the island sacrifice virgins to their evil god until a group of heroic scientists arrive on the island to battle them. The scientists quickly discover not only the variety of dangers that they face on the island, but also the horrific human sacrifices. The scientists must save the virgins and the rest of the world from the menace on Blood Island.
