Movie Summary

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason is a romantic comedy directed by Beeban Kidron and based on a book of the same name by Helen Fielding. It is a sequel to 2001's Bridget Jones' Diary. Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) is now dating Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), though she is unable to be confident with their relationship. Fearing that she will never fit into his world and that he is in love with a beautiful coworker, Bridget breaks it off with Mark. She is tempted once more by Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), who invites her to Thailand to film "The Smooth Guide." Although Bridget momentarily believes that Daniel is a changed man, she learns that he is still a womanizer and tries to leave Thailand early. She is arrested at the airport for possession of cocaine and Mark is flown to Thailand to let her know that the government is working to free her. Bridget is eventually released, and arrives home to find out that Mark had done most of the work tracking down the man who gave her to cocaine so that she would be set free. Does Mark still love Bridget, or have her antics driven him away for good this time? Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason was produced by Miramax Films, StudioCanal, Working Title Films, and Little Bird and was released on 2004.moreless
