Bright Star is a romantic drama based on the true story of Fanny Brawne - a young English girl who married the Romantic 19th century poet John Keats. Fanny (Abbie Cornish) is an independent twenty-three year old woman from London interested in fashion and design. She has a whimsical nature and doesn't show much interest in her neighbor, John Keats (Ben Whishaw). John assumes Fanny is a young, careless woman with a lot to learn. But when John's brother becomes ill, Fanny is there to tend to his every need. John decides to express his gratitude for her kind gesture by reading her poetry every day. John and Fanny fall completely head over heals for each other - thanks in large part to John's romantic poems. They make plans to get married but several obstacles impede their plans. For one, John's friend does not approve of Fanny. He believes she is nothing more than a distraction from work. And second, John does not have the funds to finance a wedding. Will this match made in heaven ever tie the knot? And what will become of them? Watch to find out!moreless
