Bring It On is an energetic and fun 2000 satire about competitive cheerleading from director Peyton Reed ("The Break-Up"). Torrance (Kirsten Dunst) has just become team captain of the Toro cheerleading squad. Her main rival, Isis (Gabrielle Union), leads the East Compton Clovers. Both teams are in the running for the national championship. Isis informs Torrance that the previous Toro captain stole the Clovers' routines. Now Torrance has to scramble to completely remake every one of their numbers before the nationals. Torrance cheats by bringing in a professional choreographer (Ian Roberts). Meanwhile, the Clovers have to find a way to cover the costs of getting to the championship. As the big meet nears, the pressure mounts, and each squad captain will stop at nothing to win the big prize. This sharp-edged high school comedy has plenty of rocking music and stunning dance routines to keep the pace fast and furious. The profanity, raunchy humor and sexual situations may be too adult for some younger viewers.moreless
