Bronco Billy, directed by Clint Eastwood, is a 1980 adventure comedy which was shot on location in Idaho. The movie follows the misadventures of modern-day cowboy Billy McCoy (Clint Eastwood) as he travel across the countryside with his troupe performing bare bones wild west shows to dwindling audiences at carnivals, orphanages and insane asylums. The troupe, which includes Vietnam deserter Leonard James (Sam Bottoms), disgraced doctor Lynch (Scatman Crothers), thief Lefty LeBow (Bill McKinney), Native American Chief Big Eagle (Dan Vadis) and his wife Lorraine Running Water (Sierra Pecheur), barely make enough money to buy beer but still believe that one day they will find fame and fortune. At one of the stops, Billy meets Antoinette Lily (Sondra Locke), a snooty heiress abandoned by her husband, and recruits her as his new assistant. Unfortunately, the traveling show's luck doesn't improve, and as the crowds get sparser, Billy must find a way to inspire his troupe and keep the legend of the American West alive.
