B.T.K. is a 2008 thriller inspired by the real life of Dennis L. Rader - a stealthy mass murderer from Wichita whose killing spree lasted more than 20 years. The 2008 made-for-television movie was written and directed by Michael Feifer (Drifter: Henry Lee Lucas, Chicago Massacre: Richard Speck, Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield). Kane Hodder, otherwise known as Jason from the Friday the 13th franchise, stars as Dennis L. Rader. The film follows Rader (Kane Hodder) through his various roles within his community, that is, as a loving husband, caring father and judicious church president. But the cameras also follow him during his darkest hours, when he adopts a second self (under factor "x") and lusts to "bind, torture, and kill" innocent people - hence the nickname "B.T.K." Rader is disgustingly good at concealing his second life - so good, authorities did not apprehend him until 20 years after his first killing, during which time he was able to kill at least 10 people. This film is an excellent, if not somewhat fictional, account of Dennis Rader and the horrendous crimes he committed against unsuspecting victims. Hodder accesses the sociopathic mind of Rader and encompasses his characteristics and mannerisms well. Two thumbs up!moreless
