Bukaroo (also known as Buckaroo: The Movie) is a 2005 family western directed by James A. Brooks. In it, angst filled teen gang member Jerome (Simon Baker) has gotten in trouble with the law again. Instead of the usual punishment, jail or juvenile detention, Jerome is sent to Colorado to be a farm hand on a working cattle ranch. The ranch owner, Ms. Ainsley (Lindsay Wagner), hopes to turn Jerome's life around through hard work, sober living and true friendship. She, along with her two cowboys, teach Jerome about ranch life and the wild. Under the guidance of his new mentors, Jerome realizes that his life must change and that he has the power to make it better. Veteran actors Adam West, Gary Busey, George Gerdes and Frank Gorshin co-star in this family friendly coming of age tale. Director James A. Brooks and his son, James A. Brooks II also cameo in this film.
