Bucktown is a blaxploitation flick about a man who runs into all kinds of trouble after traveling to a southern town to bury his brother. After his brother is killed in the very racially divided southern town of Buchanan, Duke Johnson (Fred Williamson) heads there with his girlfriend Aretha (Pam Grier) to lay his bro to rest and sort out the details of the nightclub he was left in the will. But once there, Duke is urged to reopen his late brother's club, and sees right away why his sibling was killed as the white police force is running a racket, forcing him to pay for "protection." Duke not only refuses to pay the price, but brings in a gang of his own thugs, led by old friend Roy (Thalmus Rasulala) to take out the cops once and for all. But when his men start running the same game as before, Duke has another fight on his hands, with only Aretha to help him bust heads. Arthur Marks directs this 70s action vehicle, chock full of classic fight scenes.
