Buddha Mar Gaya brings black comedy to the Bollywood scene in this 2007 film. Laxmikant Kabadiya (Anupam Kher), or LK, is one of India's greatest rags-to-riches stories. Starting as a scrap merchant and building an empire to run one of the nation's largest companies, LK is on the verge of an initial public offering (or IPO) worth approximately one billion dollars, much to the delight of his family. Unfortunately, the night before the opening, LK dies while sleeping with movie actress Kim (Rakhi Sawant). The family is distraught less at the death of their family's patriarch than at the idea that his company's IPO now will not go through. Their family guru, Vidyut Baba (Om Puri), hatches a scheme - hide the death of LK until after the IPO opens. The family, however, will soon realize the lengths to which they will have to go in order to save their father's company, not to mention all of that money.
