Bunny is a 2009 drama directed by Mia Trachinger. Nik (Edyk Dratver) and Luda (Petra Tikalov) have fled their homeland, which is torn apart by civil war. They are hoping to succeed in the United States, a country they have always seen as the land of opportunity. They accept the offer of Luda's aunt (Elizabeth Liebel), who allows them to stay with her until they get on their feet. Nik is confident he can find work, but once he goes out on the job market, his Eastern European background becomes a huge obstacle. Feeling rejected and disillusioned, Nik and Luda are desperate enough to jump at any job offer. Pecha (Eugene Albert) invites the couple to work for him at a public works project, donning bunny suits and talking with distraught strangers. As the two find themselves offering comfort to the very people who have been unwelcoming, it creates very different reactions. Nik is humiliated while Luda is inspired. It soon becomes clear that the bunny suits may change their lives forever.moreless
