Burning Plain is a drama film released on September 18, 2009. The film centers around Gina (Kim Basinger), a wife and mother of four living in New Mexico. Gina has been leading a double life, having an affair with Nick Martinez (Joaquim de Almeida), a married man. One day Gina's daughter Mariana (Jennifer Lawrence) follows her mother, and finds out about the affair. Angry at her mother's infidelity, Mariana sets fire to Nick's trailer, killing both Gina and Nick. Soon after the funeral, Marianna begins an affair with Nick's son Santiago (JD Pardo). Marianna ends up pregnant and she and Santiago run off to Mexico, where she leaves Santiago and the baby behind and starts a new life, under a new name. Even though she has run away, Marianna's past ends up catching up with her. Burning Plain is the type of movie that will grab your attention from the beginning to the end.
