Italian comedy of love and politics, about growing up in the shadow of the '60s. For 16-year-old Silvio being counterculture has been reduced to selecting clothes that will mark him a slacker, a hippie, a goth, or a politico when his high school is occupied by protesting students. Not surprisingly, Silvio's real commitment is to finding a girlfriend and when his best friend, sworn to silence, repeats a secret that spreads like wildfire, the plot is off and running.

Metacritic Score

  • 75

New York Daily News Elizabeth Weitzman

Charming, funny and poignant. But it's also a reminder that if we want an intelligent teen romance, we have to import it.

  • 75

    New York Post

No one will mistake But Forever in My Mind ("Come te Nessuno Mai") for something by Fellini or Visconti. But it is, in its own way, skillful and most entertaining.

  • 40

The New York Times Dana Stevens

Aiming for lighthearted, bittersweet charm, But Forever in My Mind slips into predictability and condescension.
