Butterfly is a 1982 film that is based on a novel of the same name, written by James M. Cain. The film takes place in 1937 and follows the story of Jess Tyler (Stacey Keach), who is a desert hermit who has spent his entire life guarding an abandons silver mine in rural Nevada. His life suddenly changes when his long lost sexy daughter, Kady Tyler (Pia Zadora), walks back into his life looking to claim all that silver for herself. Kady tries incessantly to use her beauty to seduce Jess long enough to coerce the money from the earth that she feels is due to her. Now Jess must resist her naked body while also dealing with the sudden return of his oldest daughter and her sick son Belle (Lois Nettleton), who is dying of tuberculosis. The film was panned by almost every critic and was entirely funded by Pia Zadora's wealthy husband. The film received eight nominations for the 1982 Raspberry Awards including nominations for worst actress, worst new star, and worst film. The film ran a total of 108 minutes and also starred Orson Welles, Edward Albert, James Franciscus, Stuart Whitman, June Lockhart, Ed McMahon, Paul Hampton, and George Buck Flower.
