California Casanova is a lighthearted romantic comedy set in Los Angeles. The storyline revolves around young Peter (Tyrone Power Jr.), who is a klutzy stage hand with no self-confidence around women. Peter loves the adorable night club singer J.B (Audrey Landers), but he does not know how to win her affection. In steps Constantine (Jerry Orbach), who sympathizes and teaches Peter the tricks of the trade to attracting women. Constantine is a retired gigolo who pretends he is Russian royalty by virtue of his ability to imitate the panache and demeanor of an upper class European. Loads of hilarious pieces of advice and attempts to use them ensue. Things are further complicated by the evil boss at J.B.'s nightclub who is also vying for her love. This film is a comic romp with likeable characters and some very good lines. While the plot is familiar, it is still funny and touching and maintains its own unique tone and quality.
