In the movie, California Passage, released in 1950, a young woman named Beth Martin (Adele Mara) and her younger brother Tommy (Peter Miles) set out from the East coast to Mariposa, California to visit their older brother Bob (Bill Williams) who had told them of his great fortune as a hard-working miner. Upon arriving in California, Beth comes to the shocking discovery that Bob had recently been killed and that perhaps he was not the man that he had always claimed that he was. Beth and Tommy are left Bob's gold mine in his will, and begin to try to settle into their new life. Looking for answers while dealing with their brother's sudden death, Beth finds herself in the chaotic midst of a love triangle between two back-stabbing saloon owners, Mike Prescott (Forrest Tucker) and Lincoln Corey (Jim Davis), who are vying for her attention. Unbeknownst to Mike, Lincoln is not so forthcoming in his true motivations to being so friendly. Sabotage, deceit, and a wrongful framing leave you on the edge of your seat, hoping that the good guy wins in the end and that Beth finally comes to her senses.moreless
