Calling Wild Bill Elliot tells the tale of a forced collectivization of land from ranchers under the orders of the newly appointed Governor Steve Nichols (Herbert Heyes). However, the Culver family will not stand for his indiscretions and heavy taxes. After standing up to the merciless governor, a family member is killed, and a nomadic man, Wild Bill Elliot (Bill Elliot), is accused of the crime. Bill joins forces with Edith Richards (Anne Jeffreys) and Gabby Hayes (George Hayes) to put an end to the tyrannous reign of Steve Nichols. What ensues is a display of brute force and firepower, as the insulted ranchers struggle to reclaim what is rightfully theirs. To do this they must face the might of Governor Nichols and his strong-arm sidekick Captain Carson (Roy Barcroft). Wild Bill Elliot fights for his honor and reputation as he strives to clear his name of any misdeeds. This 1943 western was directed by Spencer Gordon Bennet.
