Campus Rhythm is a comedic film by director Arthur Dreifuss. Joan Abbott (Gale Storm), who is also known as the "Crunchy-Wunchy Thrush", is a radio jingle singer for The Abernathy Products Company. She yearns to go to college and plans to go when her contract ends, but her greedy Uncle William (Douglas Leavitt) wants her to resign. Since Joan is underage, he signs the contract. Joan then decides to go to college under an alias, Susie Smith, a name she took from her employer's secretary. She goes to Rawley College and meets Buzz (Robert Lowery), a leader of a band. She also meets Scoop (Johnny Downs), who runs the school newspaper. Scoop encourages Joan to become a reporter for the paper and she accepts. Meanwhile, The Abernathy Products Company is searching for Joan, hoping to bring the popular jingle singer back. They come up with a publicity stunt, creating a nationwide contest for the best college band, in hopes to find Joan and bring her back. Will The Abernathy Products Company ever get Joan back?moreless
