Cannibal! The Musical is a 1996 black comedy directed by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. When prospector Alfred Packer (Trey Parker) is put on trial for cannibalism, he adamantly proclaims his innocence. When nobody will believe him, he tells journalist Polly Pry (Toddy Walters) his story through a series of flashbacks. In 1883, a group of five miners asks Packer to lead them on a journey from Utah to Colorado so that they can stake a claim to the gold found there. They meet a motley group of characters along the way, including fur trappers who steal Packer's horse, Japanese people masquerading as Indians, and a scary Confederate named Cyclops (Edward Henwood). When Packer's group unexpectedly becomes stranded in the wilderness during the frigid winter, they discuss resorting to cannibalism in order to survive. As Packer weaves his tale, Polly Pry must decide whether he is indeed innocent or guilty as charged.
