Released:
1987

PG
Captive Hearts tells the tale of American pilot Lieutenant Robert (Chris Makepeace) and Sergant McManus (Michael Sarrazin) whose plane got bombed down over Japan in 1944. With no choice but to parachute out, the men land in the middle of a local village led by a former Japanese Army officer. After being captured, Fukushima (Pat Morita), the village elder, rescues the men from execution and allows them to stay in the village. Over time Robert takes an interest in the Japanese culture and eventually becomes friends with his captors, even falling in love with Fukushima's daughter Miyoko (Mari Sato). This romance, however, could lead to trouble for both him and Miyoko. On the other hand McManus is unable to accept his new life, and spends his days wishing he could return to his home. Directed by Paul Almond and John A. Kuri, Captive Hearts is a must see action and adventure film.
