Captured is a dark 1998 thriller about a would-be victim turning the tables on a criminal from writer/director Peter Liapis ("Alone with a Stranger"). Wealthy businessman Holden Down (Nick Mancuso) sees his life fall apart when his dream Millennium City development project gets waylaid by a group of environmentalists. Tired of his temper tantrums, his wife, Faye (Linda Hoffman), decides to visit her sister, Sheila (Beth Tegarden), while she reconsiders their marriage. Alone and despondent, Holden reacts violently when he discovers a young car thief, Joey Breed (Michael Mahonen), trying to take his beloved Porsche. Holden breaks Joey's arm with a tire iron. After discovering his faulty security system, Holden hires Buddy (Seth Peterson) to make some innovative upgrades. Joey's older brother, Robert (Andrew Divoff), decides to nab the car as payback but finds himself trapped. The two men battle for dominance in a suspenseful game of wits and unexpected weaponry.moreless
