Car Wash is a hilarious 1976 comedy that follows the lives of some ordinary car wash employees living in the days of disco. The film takes place over the span of a single day, and the cast of characters who pass through the car wash on that day are eccentric and entertaining. One guest is Daddy Rich (Richard Pryor), a wealthy and extravagant preacher who uses his oratorical skills to make money. While many of the employees seem pulled in by his message, he isn't wholly welcomed. Another visitor is Marleen (Lauren Jones), a prostitute who is running from a taxi driver that she has failed to pay (George Carlin). Unfortunately she is looking for a customer with whom she has fallen in love, but the phone number she has seems to be a fake. A musical trio known as The Wilson Sisters and played by The Pointer Sisters brings with them a gift of music that further stirs up the car wash. The day proves to be a strange one in this comedy that borders on being a musical.moreless
