Carnival Of Souls (Rifftrax Version) is the edition of the classic 1962 spookfest from director Herk Harvey, given the special comedic once over by former Mystery Science Theater 3000's Mike Nelson, via gut busting commentary. The film starts with two cars racing each other - three lads in one and three girls in the other. The women's car ends up over the side of a bridge and in a river. As rescuers try to find the wreckage and bodies, one of the women Mary Henry (Candace Hilligoss) stumbles ashore, wet and shaken but seemingly in good physical condition. Both of her friends (Sharon Scoville and Mary Ann Haris) are considered dead. Mary carries on with her life as nothing had happened and moves to Utah when she has been offered a job in a local church as an organist. Mary finds a boarding house run by an elderly lady named Mrs. Thomas (Frances Feist) and tries to settle in. However Mary keeps seeing the recurring image of a ghostly man. Mary starts to find the line between fantasy and reality blurring as not only does she keep seeing this man but while out shopping it seems as if she ceases to exist. Mary talks with Dr. Samuels (Stan Levitt) who retraces these strange occurrences back to when she passed a spooky derelict run-down pavilion on the outskirts of town...moreless
