Carolina Moon is a 2007 film directed by Steven Tolkin. The story is set in and around the town of Progress where a young girl called Hope was murdered in 1989. The mystery of who was responsible for Hope's murder remained unsolved many years later. Ever since Hope's murder another girl was murdered on exactly the same date, the 23rd of August. One of Hope's friends before her murder was Tory Bodeen (Claire Forlain). Tory has the ability to see things that happened in the past and the present. Her father Han (Shaun Johnston) believes Tory's gift is the work of the Devil and as a result he beats her. Many people believe that Han is the murderer but Hope's mother Margaret Lavelle (Jacqueline Bisset) places the blame on Tory and this pressure causes her to leave town. Years later Tory returns to Progress and becomes romantically involved with Cade (Oliver Hudson), the brother of murdered Hope. As the 23rd of August approaches, another murder is anticipated with Han being the chief suspect. However Han is killed in a car crash leaving the murderer's identity unresolved and the fateful day fast approaching.moreless
