Carpool is a 1996 comedy film directed by Arthur Hiller. Daniel Miller (David Paymer) is a workaholic family man who has been neglecting his kids. On the morning of a very important business meeting, Daniel finds that he is the only one left to drive the daily carpool for his kids. Just when he thinks things cant get any worse than a Toyota Previa full of screaming kids, Daniel is robbed. To make matters worse, after the robbery he is carjacked by Franklin Laszlo (Tom Arnold). Laszlo is a disgruntled carnival worker who has been planning on robbing banks. He robs the robbers that robbed Daniel and takes the carpool hostage. Despite the fact that he is a criminal, Daniel's children and their classmates seem to get along much better with Franklin than they do with Daniel. The local authorities get wind of the carjacking and pursue the minivan all across the city of Seattle, including a dangerous chase through a shopping mall.moreless
